Established in 1932, Sterling Community Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit community center in Stratford, CT, serving more than 10,000 people annually through Youth Development and Athletics programs, our Resource Connection & Food Pantry, and various community-based events and initiatives. Donors and volunteers are integral to our mission to create and sustain a community we can all be proud of!

Give to the Resource Connection
Our Resource Connection and Food Pantry provide year-round services to community members in need of support. We welcome donations for all our programs. To make a donation, you can buy directly from the Amazon Wish Lists linked below or refer to the list of needed items. Donations can be dropped off at our Front Desk during business hours.
Back-2-School Drive
Every August, we collect and distribute school supplies to families facing financial constraints, ensuring that all kids in Stratford are prepared to return to the classroom. We accept: Children’s backpacks, pens, pencils, lunch boxes, notebooks, folders, pencil cases, erasers, crayons, markers, and highlighters. Visit the Back-2-School Amazon Wish-List
Food Pantry and Senior Deliveries
Our Food Pantry and Senior Delivery Service run year-round. We appreciate donations of shelf-stable foods, especially these commonly requested items: Low-sodium canned vegetables, peanut butter & jelly, low-sodium canned soups, whole-wheat pasta, low-sodium beans, canned tuna/chicken, sugar, shelf-stable milk, rice, oatmeal, granola bars, popcorn. We also welcome donations of personal care items: Body wash, shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine care products, and diapers. Visit the Food Pantry Amazon Wish-List
Stratford Food-4-Kids Program
During the school year, our Food-4-Kids program, run in partnership with Stratford Public Schools and Sodexo, provides easy-to-prepare meals to children at risk of going hungry over the weekend. For Food-4-Kids, we accept donations of: Baked beans, bread (small loaves/rolls), ramen noodles, canned vegetables, Chef Boyardee, Pop-Tarts, canned fruit, peanut butter & jelly, canned soup, mac and cheese, oatmeal, juice boxes, cereal, and granola bars.
