Who We Are

Established in 1932, Sterling Community Center is a neighborhood hub in Stratford, Connecticut, providing enrichment, engagement, and support to over 10,000 people annually through a constellation of programs, services, and community initiatives.

Our Mission

To create impactful & inclusive programs and services that engage and cultivate a thriving community

  • A comprehensive, basic needs assistance program serving the greater Stratford region, through a food pantry, senior home delivery service, special drives, and social services support. Established in 1992 with a single shelf and refrigerator, the program is now the largest of its kind in Stratford.

  • Our preschool, afterschool, and summer day camp offerings help kids and teens build confidence, creativity, and connection. We provide engaging spaces for learning and friendship, made accessible to all families through our financial aid program.

  • We offer year-round athletics programs and classes for all ages and abilities. From soccer and basketball to pickleball, yoga, and scrapbooking, our programs create inclusive, affordable opportunities for engagement.

  • Sterling Community Center partners with local schools, businesses, and community members to create meaningful volunteer and service opportunities that strengthen connections and support a healthier, happier community for all.
